Ichorid is a handy tool that we have at our disposal as he will also be great when we have multiple bridges in the dish. Since cards like Faithless Looting and Careful Study allow you to DRAW cards, you can instead use replacement effects to dredge twice upon resolution of either of the spells. But when we look at the interactions and the actual rules of the game, these cards allow you to manipulate your deck to be much more powerful. You might think that cards like Faithless Looting or Careful Study are just good ways to draw cards and then discard your dredge spells back into the graveyard. Simple enough, right? So every draw step we can dredge, right? Just wait, because it gets way better. You will also notice upon inspection of the deck list, that there are a lot of draw effects, and at first glance, it may seem pretty simple. In a nut shell, to dredge is referred to as a “replacement effect,” because the dredge action replaces the draw step, as well as any other time you would draw a spell as the result of a spell’s resolution, effect, etc. Take Golgari Grave-Troll shown above, for example.
